International students applying to Trinity College must:
follow the general application instructions and fulfill the requirements outlined in How to Apply;
International students may need to demonstrate English proficiency by submitting their results from either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). We require the IELTS or TOEFL from students whose native language is not English and/or who have not studied for at least three years at a high school for which English is the language of instruction;

Application
Trinity College accepts the Common Application.
Fees
A $65 application fee is required, and must be submitted online through the Common Application site.
Secondary School Requirements
Trinity requires a diploma from and certification by an accredited secondary school. The academic program should consist of at least 16 academic units, typically including the following minimum number of courses:
English (four years)
foreign language (three years)
laboratory science (two years)
algebra (two years)
geometry (one year)
history (two years)
Secondary school juniors who have achieved a level of personal and intellectual maturity and of academic competence that implies readiness for college may apply for acceptance by early admission. In these circumstances, the regular application procedures should be followed during the junior year.
Evaluations
Trinity requires an evaluation from a college or guidance counselor and two teacher evaluations. The two required teacher evaluations should be completed by those who have instructed you in academic courses in either of your final two years of secondary school.
Optional Essay
All students must submit an essay through the Common Application. In addition to that essay, you may choose to submit an optional essay that focuses on your specific interest in Trinity College. You may select one of the following prompts and write an essay of 250-650 words.
Standardized Tests
As of fall 2015, Trinity College does not require the SAT or ACT for all students applying for Admission.
Transfer Applicants
SAT or ACT scores are not required of transfer applicants.
If you decide to submit test scores, it is your responsibility to have test scores sent to the Admissions Office. Trinity's CEEB code is 3899 and the ACT code is 0598.
Testing Requirements
Classes at Trinity are conducted in English, and assignments, papers, and tests must be written in English. Because Trinity does not offer any English as a Second Language courses, students must be able to speak and write fluently.
The testing requirements for international applicants are as follows:
TOEFL is required for all non-native English speakers.
This is waived for students whose language of instruction in secondary school has been English for a minimum of three years.
IELTS is accepted in lieu of the TOEFL.
