2016 Minimum Academic Entry Requirements for International Students
These are the minimum academic entry requirements for international students applying to enrol at Wintec. Additional entry requirements may apply depending on the programme that is chosen and students will need to meet any other entry requirements (e.g. English language requirements) as outlined in the Wintec Academic Regulations and regulations for their chosen programme(s).
All student applications are considered on a case‐by‐case basis and final decisions are made by the Heads of School, Centre Directors or their designated equivalent under delegated authority by the Academic Board. Guidance should be sought from the Dean for any major variations.
For academic arrangements, decisions on admission and entry are agreed to by the relevant Head of School / Centre Director as part of the contract process. Any variations to the minimum academic entry requirement for a specific institution must be signed off by either the Dean or Senior Advisor as part of the contract negotiations. All variations must be reported to the relevant Programme Committee(s) and to the Academic Approvals Committee.
Qualifications not listed below will be considered on a case by case basis. Where a space is blank, a qualification that meets the minimum standard at that level has not been identified.
A “recognised tertiary institution” is defined as one listed either on UK Naric or similar internationally recognised database (e.g. AEI‐NOOSR); or one that is accredited by a national accreditation or governing body.
“Undergraduate” is defined as equivalent to levels 5 – 7 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.
